One of the best kept secrets of Bulgaria is the outstandingly scenic narrow gauge

| railway line from Dobrinishte to Semptemvri. The line was constructed during the 1920s and 1930s, has at least 20 tunnels with one forming a loop, and has the highest railway station in southeast Europe.
You can take the morning train from Bansko (dep. 9.15) to Velingrad (arr. 12.15), spend the afternoon shopping and sight seeing, and take the evening train (dep. 7.15) back to Bansko (arr
9.15), or continue on the train to Septemvri (arr. 3.00) have a leisurely lunch and take the train (dep 5.00) back to Bansko (arr. 9.15). Please note that the times indicated are only approximate! The cost for a return ticket Bansko to Veligrad is approx. 6 Leva and Bansko to Septemvri is approx 10 Leva.
